My students need another Chromebook and 5 new headphones to do spelling tests and other learning activities online.

My Students

Technology is an enormous part of life and my classroom. If you walked into my classroom, at any given time of the day, most likely you would see my students using some form of technology. We now have 5 classroom Chromebooks that a small group can use at a time. This is still not enough.

My students love using technology.

They love the 5 Chromebooks we have in our classroom. They are immediately more engaged when they get to use Chromebooks to complete an activity. They get so excited when they see the school Chromebook cart we share in our class because they know they will all get to use them. Most of my students are used to using technology at home so when they come to school they love that they can help others use the technology. Of course, there are still a handful of students in my class who do not even have a computer at home. This makes it really hard for them when they need to type their papers at home. I'm always impressed when my students can help out others when they have trouble using the Chromebooks. I love giving all students a chance to do their writing and other assignments in class using the school's Chromebooks.

My Project

My students will use this new classroom Chromebook and the headphones for many things. We will take our spelling tests and reading assessments each week on them. We will do math games that reinforce what we are learning. We will use them to do Social Studies research projects as well as Power Point group projects as well as for research and typing our writing projects this year. They will allow me to have more students able to use a Chromebook at the same time.

Right now, my class has 5 Chromebooks that we use but that is not enough for our entire class.

This makes it so we must use our school Chromebooks frequently when ever more than 5 students need a Chromebook. My students are getting more computer practice than pretty much anyone else because they are constantly on our class or school Chromebooks. More classroom Chromebooks will give them more practice and preparedness for their end of the year tests and for their future.
