My Students

Sitting for an hour is boring! Language arts curriculum does not provide a great many movement opportunities for middle schoolers, but my students love to move and need to move to stimulate their brains.

My students are seventh graders who attend an urban Indiana middle school.

Most of my students are not involved in physical activities after school and do not "get their wiggles out." That, combined with seven-hour school days comprised of mostly of sitting in a desk and learning with books and a computer, leaves my students restless and bored.

My Project

It's time to get the kiddos out of the seats and solving problems. Breakout EDU kits allow teachers the opportunity to challenge students' minds, teach them life skills, and encourage movement and teamwork. The kits include a box and several tools that will serve to challenge students to solve a series of thinking puzzles and games. Additional puzzles and games can be purchased after students master the first set.

Breakout EDU kits will change the way we learn in language arts and will give students learning opportunities they have never had before.

Students will work together to solve problems, play thinking games, and think outside the box (literally and figuratively).
