My students need Chromebook technology so we can meet all of the demands of Common Core as well as our technology requirements set forth by our school district.
I'm lucky enough to be a 2nd grade teacher to 24 loving, creative, and talented students. My students love to challenge themselves to reach the next level. They really enjoy working with technology and enjoy creating Google Documents, working on coding, and working on online programs.
My students are a respectful bunch who really love learning!
They come from great families who do all they can to support the learning that takes place in the classroom.
We are a community who truly works together and want the best for these children. We have high expectations for our learners and do everything we can to support our scholars.
My Project
Sadly, our computer lab was taken away this year due to overcrowding. We have over 1500 students at our school, but are lacking consistent use of technology.
With two Chromebooks, students will be able to be able to research information for their fossil and famous American hero reports,collaborate on shared research projects with their peers, access reading intervention programs, practice their typing skills, work on the writing process using Google Docs, have access to STEM education, increase their fact fluency and understanding of math with Ten Marks, and improve their coding skills.
This project will make a difference for all of my students this year as well as the future.
Students will be prepared for all of the state testing next year with extra typing practice, they'll be fluent in using Google Drive, which will allow them to focus on content rather than using technology, and they'll have the skills to collaborate with their peers by sharing Google Docs and Slides.
Students will have extra access to curriculum which will help them meet their end of the year goals.
