My Students

I offer reading intervention services to struggling readers through intensive and specially designed instruction to help them find success in reading.

The students I serve range from Kindergarten to 5th Grade.

They come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Our school is comprised of approximately 40% English Language Learners. What my students have in common is a need to build literacy skills to achieve grade level expectations and enjoy reading. My goal is to get them on grade-level through intensive and short-term intervention.

My Project

This table will allow me to work with students in a quiet setting. The shape allows the students to all face me in the direction which allows me to monitor their reading. This is of fundamental importance, since it is necessary to correct and support reading immediately in order avoid fossilization and build strategic skills in reading.

I serve struggling readers to help build an equitable learning environment.

This table will be used to help as many as 38 students reach grade-level reading proficiency! This will help boost students' self-confidence and instill a sense of joy. Literacy skills are necessary to all learning and open doors to worlds our students can explore.
