My students need a replacement video mixing console for our morning announcements program. Our previous console failed after ten years of solid performance.
Each school day begins with our televised morning announcements program. For over ten years, we have presented daily announcements, special events programming (student election speeches, student recognition, reading day videos, etc.), and assisted with individual and class projects.
The students directly involved with production are hard working, dedicated students who spend extra-curricular time learning how to produce closed-circuit television programs.
They frequently engage in problem solving related to production, often relying on advanced technology to accomplish their goals: PowerPoint presentations for teleprompter and graphics, web-based information sources, digital audio mixing (Mackie DL-1608), and until recently, video mixing with green-screen capability. Over the years, our students have served as a best-practice example in assisting numerous elementary, middle, and even high school closed-circuit television productions get started.
My Project
This console would enable our students to continue delivering high-quality informational programming to our students, staff, and community, as well as support classroom instruction by assisting with projects that require studio recordings and green-screen techniques. We've been able to limp along since our old video console failed, but it has been difficult, and our productions are not as smooth as the students have become accustomed to. This console will enable students to mix multiple audio and video sources smoothly, allow them to place virtual signage onscreen, create imaginative backgrounds for green screen productions, and directly record or stream programs to the Web.
Our students create video projects that are otherwise impossible.
There is simply no reasonably priced substitute for this console's ability to produce smooth, live telecasts with the option for creative backgrounds and virtual signage. Our news crew students work hard every day to deliver engaging morning announcement programming, as well as assist other students with projects. A donation to this effort will ensure this continues to be the case for many years to come.
