My students come from a variety of different backgrounds with a growing ELL population. These students demonstrate a wide variety of personalities and interests. They enjoy doing things such as reading, writing, playing video games, and spending time with their friends.
Naturally, some students have an easier time at school than others but when the lesson is well planned and engaging, it helps everyone.
Students especially enjoy using technology that gives them hands on-learning experience. Computers, tablets, iPhones, and other such forms of technology help encourage student interest in learning.
My Project
Chromebooks in the library as a project is intended to provide 5 Chromebooks for use in the library. The ultimate goal is to gather enough to have a complete class set. These Chromebooks would be used for the following:
Students taking Scholastic Reading Counts quizzes in order to participate in Summit’s Reading Incentive Program.
Students searching the library catalog to find books and other needed materials.
Students learning how to and being able to access the Utah Online Library and Overdrive e-books.
Students being able to access and produce materials related to media and information literacy.
Students will be able to participate in interactive lessons and assessments related to digital citizenship using programs such as Nearpod, Quizzes, Padlet, and/or Kahoot.
