Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Wide-eyed and eager to learn, my students actively engage and creatively explore their community as they seek to understand the world around them. My students question, think critically and effectively create solutions to real world situations. They are encouraged to approach challenges with the notion that resilience and persistence are required as well as acquired traits.
Scientist, mathematicians, engineers, writers and more, waiting for the opportunity to interact and absorb all the knowledge I am able to direct their way.
The only question they begin their quest with is, "Can we get started now?"
My Project
The combination of these interactive devices will help our students build their understanding of computer science. Starting with the concept of coding using the simplest of devices - Botley - our students will thoroughly engage with the fun antics and endless programming options. Botley is here to introduce coding in an easy, friendly way. Children as young as 5 can learn to code with Botley, and with his advanced features, he'll grow with them for many play filled years to come. Botley can detect objects - and move around them, follow looping commands, follow black lines and has additional hidden features to unlock!
Growing our students computer science know-how and engaging their creative side will be tackled by the Osmo Learning System.
It will allow our students to combine digital play and technology with real-world learning and play. The Osmo Learning Systems can help our students build on the foundations of coding, develop mathematic skills, foster critical thinking and nurture interest in the visual and fine arts.
