iPad Styli For The Wayman Academy Art Lab

My Project

Hi there!

Wayman Academy is a Title I school Charter School near downtown Jacksonville, FL.

We are a school that believes in thinking outside of the box and working hard to meet the needs of our students! Thanks to an ESEA grant in 2020, we were able to deploy brand new iPads to each student at Wayman Academy! With these drawing styli, I'm hoping to employ some of that technology in our art curriculum, and teach our students to create some incredible digital designs!

My name is Darien Bathalter (our students call me Mr. D!), and I've taught art at Wayman Academy since 2019, as well as directed our IT program since 2013.

It's been my honor to enrich our students' learning experience by increasing the quality and standard of the technology we use around the school. Now, as the art teacher, I'd like to leverage some of that technology to provide a forward-thinking art curriculum which exposes them to early elements of graphic design and the tools artists use to create in a modern world! Will you help me to share my passion for expression through design?
