I teach art at a school which is comprised of around 650 students, in grades K-5. These students work effectively through collaboration and self discovery as they learn and achieve their goals. My students are very competitive and adventurous. They are problem solvers and always explore new methods, ideas, and techniques, which gives them a sense of accomplishment after completing their goals. My students are kind and caring. I want to help them become successful and confident when they create.
My Project
This year, I have been teaching art in a cart which sometimes makes it difficult to keep students engaged. With these books, I can start my classes with a story while keeping them motivated and engaged as we create projects based on the book selection. The books will also be used to create a lending library that will allow to take them home and read. I am also teaching virtual art classes and reading these books to them will also give them a topic of conversation which can sometimes be difficult to achieve remotely.
