My students need Scholastic News and non-fiction reading materials. My students are curious and eager about the world around them, I want to foster this curiosity with extensive reading resources.
These engaging reading materials will help boost fluency and comprehension through non-fiction text.
Non-fiction reading material engages the child into a world of learning that extends across the curriculum. They are an amazing group of students and I love to see them excited about learning about current events and the world around them.
My Project
Do you remember the joy as a child of receiving your own magazine? I do and I want to bring the same excitement to my students. Many of my students have not experienced the joy of their own magazine, or even know what a magazine is. Scholastic News magazines are an engaging tool to help students with reading fluency and comprehension. This will build student's comprehension, and prepare them to be lifelong readers.
When my students pick up a magazine they are taking on a wonderful journey of learning.
They will be exposed to current events, science, and many other fantastic subjects. Scholastic provides a big magazine for each week for teachers to display in the classroom. There are also many online resources for teachers and students to use. It also provides graphic organizers and lesson plans for the teacher to reference. At the end of the week, students will take their magazine home and read them with their families. Along with your donation, Scholastic magazine will increase love for nonfiction text. Please help me to make this a reality for my students
