Help me give my students an opportunity to explore music in a portable setting. Boomwackers, Sound Shapes, and rhythm instruments support and reinforce color, shape, pitch, and rhythm.
Our school has a very diverse population of students from Irmo and the surrounding areas. Our students come from traditional, single parent, grandparents, adopted or foster homes. For this reason, we incorporate a variety of learning styles to support all students.
Students at GCS will be engaged and innovative community members who are educated using an enriched math and science curriculum in a STEAM setting.
The art programs are being added and expanded each year as our campus and student population grows.
Currently, GCS offers art, music, Spanish and Project Lead the Way. Music programs are growing rapidly and are our goal is to reach 100% of students with a diverse music program at every campus.
My Project
Our students enjoy learning through color, shape, sound, and movement. With BoomWackers and rhythm instruments, students can move to the sounds and melodies they create. Students will be composing and arranging their own music ideas, playing music to well-known songs, and playing new music that will challenge them.
GREEN has a brand new music program and Mrs. Tyson wants students to experience as much diversity as possible in the music class.
Students will learn world music, popular music, and patriotic music using the Boomwackers, Sound Shape drums, and bells. Help our students boom, whack, explore, create and drum their way to higher-level thinking!
