This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a public high school Anatomy and Physiology teacher at a high school in Atlanta, Ga. Most of my students are from low-income families. I teach three Anatomy classes a total of 70 students. Imagine how fun learning about the human body would be if the textbook would come alive!

Please help engage students in learning about their body systems with dissection supplies.

We need hearts, fetal pigs, cow eyes, and owl pellets. Your donation will provide valuable learning opportunities to all students regardless of academic level or disability.

My Project

Anatomy and Physiology students need preserved specimens to engage them in the learning process. Over the past three years, I have built our Anatomy and Physiology course to include many dissections.

Each year my class attendance has increased significantly due to the many opportunities for hands on learning.

Students get to not only learn how our body systems work together to maintain body function but they get to compare species anatomy. With this level of understanding students leave this course with a thorough understanding of their own physiology; as well as, how interactions with the environment may affect them. Students benefit from this course in so many real world ways. They learn how to take care of their bodies and maintain a balance that promotes healthy living.
