This school year I am teaching transitional kindergarten and kindergarten to 20 eager and enthusiastic learners. My class varies in level of school readiness and learning styles. My students range from the high achieving to at-risk and special education and everyone in between.
Kindergartners are energetic, creative, and eager to explore.
It is important for them to have access to materials that can help develop their skills such as communicating, problem solving, and creative thinking that will prepare them for their future.
My Project
These books will be a fantastic addition to our classroom library! Having multiple copies of favorite titles by our favorite authors will give my students ample opportunity to build reading skills, to talk about books with each other, and to fall in love with the wonders of reading. These books will be read aloud to the class for an interactive read aloud; read independently by my students and read together with their reading buddies during our reading workshop time.
You can never have too many books.
The more books we have in the classroom, the more likely a student will find a book to fall in love with. Books are the connection to understanding themselves and the world around them.
