My students need these items to complete the Breakout Challenges which will facilitate inquiry, problem solving, and collaboration while increasing student engagement, problem solving, and subject matter understanding.
The United States has developed as a global leader, in large part, through the genius and hard work of its scientists, engineers, and innovators. In a world that’s becoming increasingly complex, where success is driven not only by what you know, but by what you can do with what you know, Bullard Elementary knows it is more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are the types of skills that students learn by studying science, technology, engineering, and math—subjects collectively known as STEM.
Bullard students love hands-on and interactive STEM activities.
Kids have a natural interest and curiosity in exploring how things work. We are creating a student-centric instructional setting where students are presented with open-ended STEM problems. Our students easily jump into the activities, work together, and share ideas with one another.
Elementary-age students express joy in doing the activities. They find them fun!
My Project
Breakout EDU is one of the most buzzed-about, engaging education tech innovations. It’s such a fun way to get students problem solving and working collaboratively. Purchasing these items will enable me to build 6 Breakout kits to service all 825 students at Bullard Elementary. The Breakout kit allows for the facilitation of games where students use teamwork and critical thinking to solve a series of challenging standards based puzzles in order to open the locked box. Using the Breakout kits, students will work together to solve clues in order to build the skills needed in the 21st century.
The cross curricular, standards based Breakouts teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their natural drive to problem-solve.I will be able to provide ultra-engaging learning games for all students K-5.
