My Students

My community has faced fires head-on the last three years in a row. A majority of the population of my students have either lost their homes, been evacuated, and/ or housed fire evacuees. This has played, and will continue to play, a major role on my students’ safety and socio-emotional needs. Additionally, my students have a diverse range of learning, literacy, and language development needs including many with IEPs, 504 plans, and requiring CELDT support. Even with these obstacles, my students are an accumulation of the most resilient, hilarious, kind-hearted individuals who deserve the absolute best learning experience.

Think back to when you were in middle school.

What an awkward time in our lives. Where do I fit in? Is it all about me? How do things work? What are the variables? Cooperative group work is the single most important skill for middle school science students to master; the knowledge of their role in the group setting. You step outside of your egocentric self and start to discover the world around you and your influence on it. The curiosity our students bring to science is monumental. And your donation can make the difference.

My Project

Welcome to 8th grade science! Help us complete our learning space. This project will fund a classroom set of lab stations. This allows us to sit or stand at tables to engage in project based learning. This makers' space lends itself to collaboration. Think of the possibilities?

Dissecting frogs happens on tables!

These tables will transform our room into a science lab of learning. Students need to be able to see the thought provoking outcomes of science, as they inquire their way through experiments and projects. Students will journey through the scientific process with all lab materials accessible to the entire team!
