Mrs. Agati from Burlington MA is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Equal Instrument Access for All Students

My students need these storage racks for instruments. These racks are on wheels which will allow mobility of the instruments between the two music spaces in our building, providing more opportunities to play and learn.

My Students

I teach in an elementary school with a very diverse population of students. Some are from immigrant families, some have severe special needs, some have internal struggles that cannot be seen from the outside, some are typical children you love to learn.

Even though many of them come from vastly different backgrounds, in my music classroom, they can all communicate with each other.

The students love to sing and play instruments, play simple circle games, and dance to a wide variety of music. Making music with my students is a joyous activity that makes me happy every day.

My Project

Currently there are two music teachers at our school but only one music room. The second teacher holds classes on the stage. Almost all of our instruments are stored in the one music room.

These carts and bins will make it easier for us to transport multiple instruments to and from the music room, to the stage for classes.

As a result the instruments can be used more regularly with the students who receive music instruction on the stage. In particular, they will be useful in transporting our new ukulele collection, as well as the written materials necessary for instruction.
