Our school Media Center is a center of academic life that students visit for research, collaboration with classmates, help with instructional technology, and to read and relax.
When students visit the library, we want them to feel welcome and accepted.
We are fortunate to serve in a community that is rich in cultural diversity. Among our families alone, more than 68 different languages are spoken, and that’s just one aspect of identity that enriches our educational experience here. So, it makes us happy when students see themselves reflected in the books and resources they find in our space.
My Project
The Green Hope High Library serves about 2,500 students who reflect the rich diversity of our school community. We all benefit greatly from opportunities to interact and learn with people who are different from us, and one of our top priorities in the GHHS library is to purchase 'own voices' titles -- books written by people who share identities and experience with the characters and subjects they write about. Please consider purchasing a title from our wish list so that our students continue to see themselves represented in our book collection and so all students have access to diverse perspectives.
